Reviews

"As I Walk is a beautifully written, and illustrated book. It makes you feel as if you are on a leisurely stroll of both sight and sound, through the lovely Cole Harbour Heritage Park. I spent many hours with my young son exploring these trails, and this book made me feel like I was right back there again, enjoying all the nature, beauty and solitude it has to offer. Through the wonderful words, and gorgeous visuals of the illustrations, it takes you on a journey through the seasons & surroundings of this beautiful Park. A book to be enjoyed for all ages. Whether you have visited these trails or not, you will feel like you have spent a day enjoying it's beauty, after flipping though the pages of this sweet book."

“ ... I was struck also by the fact that although your text identified local landmarks, it did not distract me as a non-local reader.  Your writing had me focused on the sights and sounds of a walking trail, so Cole Harbour's Heritage Park, Stinky Brook & Bissett Lake were interchangeable with Fredericton's O'dell Park, Baker Brook & Killarney Lake.”

“... I liked the pictures and the whole book cause it went from summer to winter. I liked how she didn't use plain words, she used words like soaring so high and swiftly over still waters. They're words that you don't normally see in books. It was neat how the words starting with the same letter were slanted.”
